Cidade da Samba is Ready to Go!!!
Last night at the Cidade da Samba (City of Samba) there was a huge party to kick off the 2008 Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. All of the schools participated and all of the Brazilian Celebrities were there to take part.
Several Samba Schools held exibitions and the entire place was rocking from the huge turn of School bands including the drumming section which makes up a large part of the Samba sound.
Get ready guys and girls because this town has gone into full Carnival mode a bit early this year. It´s sure to be a wild one.
The only thing that can possibly rain on our Samba Parade this year would be the declining of the US dollar but it looks like there is new life in it yet. Today the dollar closed at $1.77. Not as strong as it was last year but lets be extremely wishful that it continues in an upward direction gaining strength so we can spend more during the carnival this year.
